do the *clap clap* potty dance

have you ever seen the huggies pull up commercial? if not, watch. because you'll need to be acquainted with it in order to understand just what the heck mary is doing. i'll give you a few minute to watch it

now, awhile ago we got mary some pull ups because she was showing interest in potty training (didn't work out as well as we'd hoped, but that's a different story). mary love, love, loved her pull ups. she called them her princess diapers and sometimes would forgo pants in order to see herself in them 24/7.
well, she's pretty into this potty dance song. i realized, one time when the commercial was on, that she was singing along, doing the motions (even trying to undo the pull up diaper like demonstrated on the commercial). one evening, while stripped to her pull ups and somehow wearing a bandanna and her dress up heels, mary went nuts in the kitchen singing and dancing. here's what happened:

and, because she's so dang cute and i can't get enough of her, this one. wait for the end when she almost falls while twirling. so funny. don't worry, no marys (or would that be maries) be harmed in the making of this film.

mary also has a fond love of pillow pets. it's almost a little scary how she's memorized the commercial for that product. i wish i had a video of that, but i'm almost a little embarrassed, in case you think mary watches too much tv. i swear that's not the case. she's just got this amazing ability to pick up and memorize things she hears and likes (it'snot just tv, it's songs too).
we went to the mall the other day and there was a kiosk full of them. mary went CRAZY! she went around popping them open and laying her head on them, fake snoring. oh man, we need to get her one. and in fact, the only way to get her away from the kiosk without a major meltdown was to tell her she'd get a pillow pet for her birthday if she was good. seemed to work.

oops!

Sorry we forgot to include the pictures of the new pool that got for Mary in our last post. So here they are.

quack, quack, splish, splash

sorry for the delay.

with warmer (read hotter) weather comes a greater variety of distractions in the form of mary doing something, anything outside.

for instance, the other day mary and i went to a nearby park to swing, slide and visit the ducks at the pond. fortunately, there were a lot of ducks. unfortunately, a lot of people had the same idea. so said ducks were pretty full off bread. luckily, there was one goose (i think it was a goose anyway. ducks aren't white, are they?) who was still hungry. so mary and i went and sat by mr. fatty goose to feed away. this thing was lazy with a capital L. he was perched on a rock and expected the bread to make it right in front of him. because if he stretched out his neck and couldn't reach the floating, soggy piece of bread, he just forgot about it. seriously, at one point, i threw the bread up and he almost caught it mid air. i felt like the chef at one of those tepan grill restaurants, hurling shrimp at the customers. the goose missed it. too bad.
also, do you like mary's new sunglasses? i think they cost all of .27 at zurchers, party supply store. mary thinks they're wicked rad.

warm weather also means bathing suits, water and...alligators?

we found this kiddie pool at walmart for around $15. best buy ever. well, for now anyway. mary was hesitant to go in the pool because she's a little traumatized by water ever since the pineapple fail of 2009

the bathingsuit and cover up are brought to you courtesy gpas Koz. she's also wearing her dress up princess shoes, because who doesn't like wearing heels in a swim suit? models do it, right?

Summer Fun

So summer is finally here and the weather has been great lately. We of course have been trying to take advantage of this and spend a lot of time outside with Mary. Yesterday was the beautiful out and it was especially nice because I was off and was able to spend time with Stephanie and Mary. We decided to wash our car. Mary really loved doing this. Here are a few pics of that.

And here is a video of her enojoying herself.

Here are a few more pictures of Mary when she got a hold of Stephanie's makeup without mommy or daddy noticing. She was just trying to put it on like mommy does.

So thats it for now. Steph will be on later today to post some more pictures and videos of some fun in the sun her and Mary were having while I have been at work.
