Adventures in home improvement

So this week Brent and I were busy cleaning, decluttering and reorganizing our entire apartment. Brent put together the baby crib and we both painted my dresser white to match in Mary's room.

Of course I played it safe and wore a mask so that all the dust and paint odor wouldn't get Mary high.

The crib was really easy for Brent to put together but the dresser was a new experience for him and required a few coats before it looked white enough for us. We got new hardware for the dresser too. We also bought the crib mattress and a pink crib sheet to match the fabric I picked out for the bumper, quilt, etc..

We are very proud of our handy accomplishments. The room is looking more and more like a nursery, and less and less like Brent's room. We still need to take down the Dan Marino jersey, the flags, the dart board, etc and then Mary will have a more gender appropriate room!

Here's a picture of me to show you how big my belly is getting. It's not the best picture because I was so tired and it shows. So just disregard the face!
More to come soon! Hope you enjoy all the pictures.

Harry Potter destroyed and Mary Eva's first presents

Well, as could be expected, I purchased Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the last installment) on it's release date. I basically did nothing but read, eat, go to work when I had to, and read some more. I think Tiggy got really offended by my lack of attention towards him. He kept glaring at me from behind the book. When I came home from church on Sunday the 22 of July it was to find the book knocked off the bookshelf and the book jacket ruined!

Obviously Tiggy got his revenge. He must really hate Harry Potter, but at least he bit off one of Lord Voldemort's hands in the process. Needless to say I was very upset. I didn't speak to Tiggy all day and he got a spanking and time out in the second bedroom.

Today I received a package from Brent's aunt Jamie. It was a total surprise and really exciting to see mail that wasn't a bill or credit card application. She sent us some things for Mary, her first present. Jamie made basically everything except the sleep and play. Tiggy thought that everything was for him, especially the baby braceles which make a little jingly ringy noise (I think it reminds him of his toys which all have bells on them). He kept trying to grab everything away from me. I tried putting the hair bow on him to take a picture but he thought I was playing so I had to scrap that idea. And then when I laid out the blanket and burp cloth to take a picture he thought I was laying it out for him. He jumped on it and was all ready to get cozy when I knocked him off. He didn't like that. I'm really excited to see Mary wearing the hair bows. The white one would be especially cute for her blessing. I'll have to find a hiding place from that crazy cat though.

There's the latest. I will add pictures of me just as soon as I can. It's so hot here that I always feel gross and sweaty, not at all good for picture taking.
